The Necromancer Player Class: The Necromancer’s legions march to establish an eternal kingdom, unifying all the world’s races in death.Embrace the forbidden powers and reign for eternity! Eternal Lords Content Includes: New features such as the Race Governance system, which allows players to tailor features of each race in their empire to meet their strategic needs, add new layers of depth to empire development and diplomacy. With the introduction of the Tigran and Frostling races and the new Necromancer class, players must adapt to a world on the brink of cataclysmic change. Without them you won't be able to use the really great ones.Eternal Lords is the major, second expansion for the acclaimed strategy game Age of Wonders III, marking one year of continuous development since its release. It's more expensive, but also has 75% of the new stuff and is better value for money.Īs for mods: 90% of them require both DLC to work. If you're only going to get one, get Eternal Lords. (The DLCs add short campaigns of their own, which are very high quality and much more interesting and fun than the base game ones, but they're also very hard, and not recommended before you've played the normal game.) If you're one of them, you don't really need the DLC. The campaigns in AoW3 aren't the best feature, and many players find them somewhat frustrating (as you have far less freedom compared to the random maps) but there are some who just want to play through the story. That said, most of these new features (including the new races, class, etc) do NOT appear in the original campaign. Personally, I felt that before the DLC the game was merely good, but with them it became great. They add new victory conditions, new ways of specialising cities, a racial upgrade system, random global events and quests, (including some fun end-game monster invasions).Įven if you do not feel like you need one more class, 3 more races, 2 more minor races, 5 or so magic specialisations, and 2 short campaigns, these gameplay changes are worth it, in my opinion. They especially make the empire building part deeper and more fun. The DLC both add a lot of depth to the random maps and scenarios that are the core of this game. Unless you only mean to play the campaigns, but I do not recommend that.

Fallout 76 was unquestionably the marquee announcement of Bethesda's press event, just as Diablo Immortal was for BlizzCon. I'm reminded of how Bethesda handled the announcement of Fallout 76 back at E3 in June. I don't think any us expected Diablo 4 to be announced once that statement was made, but when Diablo skipped BlizzCon 2017 entirely, can you really blame us for hoping for something a little more substantial than a mobile spin-off? I was personally hoping to see something about a Diablo 2 remaster, which I think would have been the perfect palate cleanser for people who aren't interested in Diablo Immortal. I've seen some people blaming the fans for getting their hopes up after Blizzard also said that Diablo 4 wouldn't be at BlizzCon 2018. Blizzard confirmed back in August that it has multiple Diablo projects in the works, so why were they all missing in action during the company's biggest event of the year? I might even like it! For me, though, the problem with Friday's announcement is that this mobile game was the only thing that received any stage time. So no, I don't begrudge Blizzard for announcing a Diablo mobile game, and I'll probably take it for a spin myself when it comes out.
